Yunus Chkirate is the descendant of Moroccan and Italian parents. From a young age, he demonstrated strong artistic skills and an expansive imagination. His mother, being an artist and fashion designer, exposed him to many factors, which influence his painting today.
Yunus pursued his studies in social sciences and fashion marketing. The combination of these two disciplines developed his sense of socio-cultural understanding and creativity. While working in the fashion industry, Yunus gained knowledge of color and visual aesthetics. He used fashion as an art form. This allowed him to test his love for creating, thus laying the foundations for his own artistic process.
After making a strong impression in the Montreal art scene by selling out his first solo show in March of 2011, Yunus continued his pursuit of the arts by participating in group and solo exhibitions.
In the span of eight years, Yunus Chkirate has developed into a sought after visual artist with a growing list of admirers. His works are found in collections across the globe and he is also a widely commissioned portrait artist.

Yunus Chkirate est le descendant de parents marocain et italien. Très jeune, il démontrait déjà de grandes compétences artistiques et une imagination débordante. Sa mère, étant une artiste et une créatrice de mode, l’a exposé à de nombreux éléments qui influencent aujourd’hui son approche artistique.
Yunus a poursuivi ses études en sciences humaines et en commercialisation de la mode. La combinaison de ces deux disciplines a contribué au développement de sa compréhension socioculturelle et de sa créativité. Pendant qu’il travaillait dans l’industrie de la mode, Yunus a acquis des connaissances en ce qui a trait aux couleurs et à l’esthétique visuelle. Il utilisait la mode comme une forme d’art, ce qui lui a permis d’évaluer son amour pour la création et par le fait même, d’établir les fondations de son propre processus artistique.
Après avoir fait une forte impression sur la scène des arts à Montréal grâce au succès de sa première exposition en solo en mars 2011, Yunus a poursuivi ses objectifs artistiques en participant à des expositions en groupe ou en solo.
En l’espace de sept ans, Yunus Chkirate est devenu un artiste en arts visuels très couru dont la liste des admirateurs de ses œuvres ne cesse de s’accroître. Ses œuvres se trouvent dans des collections partout à travers le monde, et il est également un artiste portraitiste très demandé.
